The Dane Axe is a battle axe used mostly during the period between the Viking Age and the Middle Ages. Catalogued in Petersen's typology as a Type M axe head. This axehead is based on the find from Langeid, and for historical accuracy please consider shafting on a bronze collar.
Through the course of the 10th–11th centuries, it was popular in areas outside Scandinavia where the Viking influence was strong, such as England, Ireland and Normandy.
