The Pioneer helmet is a quintessential Anglo-Saxon helmet from the late seventh century. It is very similar to the famous Coppergate helmet, yet it is distinct in its unique crest adornment of a Boar. It features cheek flaps and a nasal guard, as well as a leather chinstrap and interior leather webbing for height adjustment.
The Pioneer helmet was uncovered in a burial mound alonside a pattern welded sword and hanging bowl, suggesting associated with a high status warrior.
A perfect helmet for re-enactment combat or WMA, especially those who are interested in Anglo-Saxon history.
