This leg protection is made from high quality split leather and steel plates with brass cinquefoils and brass rivets.
It is based on a pair worn by Sir Thomas Cheyne (1375) as seen on his brass funeral plate.
These cuisses feature steel strips/plates on the inside of the leather and a decorated fringe below the steel knee protection.
The thigh leather is secured to the leg by three leather straps. The thigh protection is then secured to the knee plate by thick leather thong. The knee plate has two leather straps at the top and bottom and brass buckles.
