A Viking woman's dress was usually secured by a pair of tortoise brooches. These brooches were often worn by married women.
These tortoise brooches are based on finds from Iceland, Germany / Denmark (Hedeby) and Sweden (Birka), 10th century.
The openwork design keeps weight to a minimum and allows coloured cloth worn behind to show through.
Size: 6cm by 6.2 cm
