This isn't just any Xiphos Sword - it's an Alfedena Xiphos Sword. Which, in all honesty, makes it function just like any other xiphos sword. But, it is special in its exclusivity.

This sword, and many similar examples of it, was found in the Necropolis of Alfedena, in the Abruzzo region of Italy. An area inhabited by the Pretutti peoples in the 5th or 6th centuries, and the folk most likely to have produced the eponymous sword. This sword in particular would be Etruscan in origin, but we call it a Xiphos sword because it shares the form for the sidearms used by Greek Hoplites later on.

This sword is a recreation of the find in the necropolis. It's pommel is stainless steel, but it's grip and crossguard are bone, with stainless steel bracing. The blade itself is also stainless steel. The Xiphos comes with a leather bound wooden scabbard with brass locket and chape.
