This stove (craticula) is a replica of a Roman hearth cooking frame with two places for pots (situla) as well as moveable iron bars for further pots and pans. It is made of wrought-iron and has riveted joints.
It is appropriate for holding bowls, skillets, cauldrons and other rounded camp cooking accessories. Whilst it is Roman in origin designs did not change much and this frame can be used for many medieval re-enactment periods.
