This Krefeld Helmet is based on an original from a fortress outside Krefeld, Germany, and is now on display in the museum at Worms. Dated to the 1st century AD, this helmet features heavy brass decoration including plating, chevrons, temples and altars. The helmet features a wide brim, brow guard and cheek flaps, alongside a leather tie and arming cap, and comes with an in built carrying handle on the back of the brim. A wonderful recreation of a famous Roman helmet.
Remnants of this style of helmet have also been found in rubbish pits at Colchester, England.
Made of 18 gauge steel, the helmet is perfect for Roman reenactors and enthusiasts.
