Coifs were made to cover the head (face excluded), neck and shoulders. The use of mail was prominent throughout the High Middle Ages - it reached its apex in the 13th century , when full body suits of mail armour were developed.
This coif has had every second link riveted and every other is solid so it is extremely durable. Each link has a flat cross-section and each rivet is round rivet.
The coif has two splits approx. 270mm long on either side of the head.
Links: 9mm flat ring with rivets
Weight: 2.8kg
