According to artistic, historiological and archaeological evidence, the Corinthian helm was the most popular helm during the Archaic and early Classical periods. This style gradually gave way to the pylos type helm, which was less expensive to manufacture and did not obstruct the wearer's critical senses of vision and hearing nearly as much.
This solid steel Corinthian helmet is made from 16ga sheet steel with red plume and plated tail.
Measurements:
Hat circumference: 68cm
Helmet Height:
27cm (not inc plume)
Plume height:
20cm
Plume Length:
46cm (not inc tail)
Tail Length:
40cm approx.
Weight:
2.7kg
It should be noted that although this is made from 16ga steel there has been substantial shaping and therefore thinning of the steel has occurred.
