This is an ex-display sword & the scabbard has some scuff marks. The brass will require polishing if you want it to gleam. It will not affect the functionality of the sword

The Mainz variety of gladius came into use during the early empire. It kept the curvature of the falcata, but shortened and widened the blade finishing with a point triangular.

This gladius features a carbon steel blade with oval-shaped wooden pommel, matching guard and ribbed wooden handle. The wooden sheath is wrapped in red leather and brass.. It features brass rings to allow the sword to be carried in true Roman style.
