This massive 'hanging beard' axe is styled like Type C from Peterson's axe typology which is described as being most commonly found in Trøndelag and Nordland of Norway. Item is raw steel and will rust if not coated or covered.

Combat Readiness Score: 9/10 - corners may need rounding and shaft required.

Dull blade for re-enactment.

This carbonized iron axe has a rustic charm, but it's prone to rust if not treated. You might notice a touch of iron oxide on it when you receive it.

To achieve an authentic aged look, just wipe it with a cloth and re-oil it. This simple step both protects the axe and gives it the right historical appearance. We avoid excessive polishing and artificial stainless steel, ensuring the axe maintains its period-accurate look.

Good value axehead Strong, good value for money axehead.
Mine was also a little heavy but I used an angle grinder to cut and grind it down to the weight and shape I wanted.
Will buy another
Good axe although heavy Well made axe head
Nice safe edge
But significantly heavier than the description,
mine weighing in over 1Kg
Just what i needed The axe head is really well made and strong
It has a nice size and weight to it
The rough hand forged look really goes well with the era i needed it for

Reasonable axe head. I bought this axe head as a trial for my viking group. The hammer marks are really ugly, but overall it can of take a beating. Great item, good price and as usual - fantastic service from Medieval Fightclub!
