Description
Pewter disc brooch with quatrefoil decoration and bosses and a hatched border. A humbler imitation of engraved silver brooches of the same period, the original was probably discovered in the River Thames at London. I made my master model in a carved a soapstone mould. The field has been darkened to accentuate the raised design. Forged iron pin.
