People have always sought ways to keep and transport fresh, clean water. The Romans built aqueducts to provide water in the cities, animals skins were used to transport water by a more portable means, clay and woven materials were molded into water carrying devices…the list goes on. From traders and merchants needing to carry water (or wine) on their travels to soldiers needing to re-hydrate - ways to carry liquid have always been important.

Teardrop shaped leather bottle with almost half a litre capacity.
This bottle is made from soft brown leather. It has a plastic layer on the inside to prevent leaks. This layer is not visible from the outside.
The bottleneck is made of polished brass and a wooden stopper is attached to a leather cord for sealing the neck.
There are two small loops stitched into the seams to enable you to attach to a belt via a belt hook or make a shoulder strap.

Length of bottle: 340ml with stopper
Capacity: 420ml approx.
Material: vegetable tanned leather, brass neck, plastic layer inside, wooden stopper
Weight: 165g approx.
