Norse era belts were leather, and considerably narrower than belts later came to be; 2cm (3/4 inch) was about the widest commonly used. There were typically no belt loops in garments, so any excess length was knotted around the belt and allowed to fall freely. The free end was weighted with a decorative strap end (right).

Not only is the strap end (chape) decorated, so is the buckle itself.
There are no holes in this belt, you will need to make a hole to suit your waist.

Length is 155cm (61 inches)
Width is 2cm (3/4 inch)
Weight is 110g
Thickness is 3mm

Please note - the brass may need polishing

Snazzy It's a great belt and the buckle and chape are just as nice as the photo. The great thing about this belt is that you can wear it with normal clothing as it can pass as an everday sophisticated belt, which is rare in a costume piece.

Buckle up... Long belt is long.
I can almost wrap this twice around my body without my kit on.
It's simple yet attractive design means it blends really well with my 10th/11th Century kit, and it could probably do so a 100 years before and after too!
I for one added one of the Birds Of Prey Ornament's to it, and now it looks even better.
The only odd thing is, mine came with no belt holes. But hey, doesn't really detract from it, just makes it another little side project. Always fun.
