This body armour is made to a standard size for adult males with girth over 100cm. It is deigned to overlap and protect/cover the lower spine. Will work as effective armour just as is, but for the best possible fit, you are required to punch holes in the back to lace the three sections of leather together, this can be done with a ring or buckle system.
This one measure approx:
Torso girth: 1200mm (47 inches)
Length from neck hole to bottom edge of bottom plate: 57.15cm (22.5 inches)
Additional leather extending past bottom plate: 11.5cm (4.5 inches)
The coat of plates is known among history re-enactors as Visby armour due to archaeological findings of this type of armour in Visby, Sweden. One of the best resources about coats of plates are the mass graves from the Battle of Visby.
Available (as pictured) in buff leather - great for dying to suit your own colours or in a darker rust brown - ready to go!
PLEASE NOTE: Last image shows colour of leather only - not orientation of plates.
